TableSnap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our PDF table extraction service and Google Sheets Add-on.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Email Address: Obtained via Google OAuth to create an API key and manage your account.
- Basic Profile Information: Your name from Google OAuth, used to personalize the add-on interface.
- PDF Files: Files you upload for table extraction. These are processed and immediately deleted.
- Usage Data: Number of pages processed to track quota usage.
3. Google User Data: Collection, Use, and Disclosure
This section specifically addresses how we handle data obtained from Google APIs.
3.1 What Google User Data We Collect
Through the Google OAuth authentication process, we collect:
- Email Address (via userinfo.email scope): Used to identify your account and associate your API key.
- Display Name (via userinfo.profile scope): Used to personalize greetings in the add-on interface.
3.2 How We Use Google User Data
Your Google user data is used exclusively for:
- Creating and managing your TableSnap API key
- Tracking your usage quota (pages processed per month)
- Displaying your name in the add-on for a personalized experience
3.3 Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Google User Data
We do NOT share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data (email address, profile name) to any third parties.
- No Third-Party Sharing: Your Google account information is never shared with Anthropic, advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your Google user data.
- No Advertising Use: Your Google user data is never used for advertising purposes.
- No Transfer: Your Google user data is not transferred to any external services or partners.
- Legal Exception: The only exception is if we are legally compelled to disclose information by law, subpoena, or government request.
Important: When you upload a PDF for extraction, only the PDF content is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing. Your Google user data (email, name) is never included in these API requests.
4. PDF Data Processing
When you upload a PDF:
- The file is sent to our server over HTTPS
- The PDF content (not your Google user data) is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for table extraction
- Files are NOT stored - they are processed in memory and immediately discarded
- Only the extracted table data is returned to your Google Sheet
Anthropic processes PDF content according to their Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): For AI-powered table extraction. Only PDF content is shared; no Google user data is sent to Anthropic.
- Cloudflare: For DNS and DDoS protection.
- Google: For OAuth authentication and the Google Sheets platform.
6. Data Retention
- PDF Files: Not retained. Deleted immediately after processing.
- Email & API Keys: Retained until you request deletion.
- Usage Statistics: Retained for 12 months.
7. Data Security
We protect your data through:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transfers
- Secure server infrastructure
- API key authentication
- No persistent storage of uploaded files
- Secure storage of Google user data on encrypted servers
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you're in the EU, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Export your data
- Object to processing

9. Google Sheets Add-on Permissions
The TableSnap Add-on requests the following Google OAuth scopes:
- spreadsheets.currentonly: View and edit only the spreadsheet where the add-on is installed, to insert extracted table data.
- script.container.ui: Display sidebars and dialogs within Google Sheets for the add-on interface.
- script.external_request: Communicate with the TableSnap API server to process PDFs.
- userinfo.email: Identify your account for API key management and usage tracking.
- userinfo.profile: Display your name in the add-on interface for personalization.
10. Children's Privacy
TableSnap is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated via email to affected users.
