TableSnap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our PDF table extraction service and Google Sheets Add-on.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Email Address: Required to create an API key and manage your account.
- PDF Files: Files you upload for table extraction. These are processed and immediately deleted.
- Usage Data: Number of pages processed to track quota usage.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
- Provide the table extraction service
- Track your usage quota
- Send important service updates (rare)
- Improve our service
4. Data Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
We share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data as follows:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): When you upload a PDF for extraction, the file content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered table extraction. Anthropic processes this data according to their Privacy Policy. No other Google user data (email, profile info) is shared with Anthropic.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Google user data to third parties.
- No Advertising: We do not share your data with advertising networks or use it for targeted advertising.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or government request.
Data we do NOT share: Your email address, API keys, usage statistics, and Google account information are never shared with third parties except as required by law.
5. Data Processing
When you upload a PDF:
- The file is sent to our server over HTTPS
- We use Anthropic's Claude AI to extract tables
- Files are NOT stored - they are processed in memory and immediately discarded
- Only the extracted table data is returned to you
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): For AI-powered table extraction. PDF content is sent to their API for processing. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: For DNS and DDoS protection.
7. Data Retention
- PDF Files: Not retained. Deleted immediately after processing.
- Email & API Keys: Retained until you request deletion.
- Usage Statistics: Retained for 12 months.
8. Data Security
We protect your data through:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transfers
- Secure server infrastructure
- API key authentication
- No persistent storage of uploaded files
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you're in the EU, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Export your data
- Object to processing

10. Google Sheets Add-on Permissions
The TableSnap Add-on requests the following Google OAuth scopes:
- spreadsheets.currentonly: View and edit the spreadsheet where the add-on is installed, to insert extracted table data.
- script.container.ui: Display sidebars and dialogs within Google Sheets.
- script.external_request: Communicate with our TableSnap API server.
- userinfo.email: Identify your account for API key management.
- userinfo.profile: Display your name in the add-on interface.
11. Children's Privacy
TableSnap is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated via email.
